George Gershwin was one of the most famed songwriter of the Broadway scene in the 20s, 30s and 40s, and has composed ones of the most beautiful tunes. On the CD included, the author, Howard Morgan, plays finger style on steel strings a la the great Joe Pass and Martin Taylor, although the arrangements can be played on a nylon-stringed instrument as well.

Although Johann Sebastian Bach did not write any music for the guitar, transcriptions of his unaccompanied string music and music for lute have long been a part of the guitar repertoire.
